I was born in Lake Park, Georgia. When I was 10 years old my Dad passed
away after losing the battle to cancer. But I remember that he was a
talented man who could play any kind of instrument and loved to sing
gospel music. Some months after he passed away my Mom remarried a man
who had no interest in the Lord. So there was no spiritual leader in our
home. We did not talk about Jesus or Heaven. No one read the Bible or
told me about sin, forgiveness and salvation.
Years went by and
like a lot of people I thought my life was pretty good. My husband and I
had a successful business. We had a nice home and had raised four
wonderful children together. There was only one thing wrong. I was LOST.
Then
I met my friend. She was a Christian and wanted me to go to church with
her. She invited me numerous times. But I could always find an excuse
not to go. One day I finally went to church with her. But it was to her
funeral. She drowned while on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico. At
her funeral I heard the simple plan of salvation and I met the Lord and I
know that one day I will see my friend again.
I was immediately
filled with the desire to serve the Lord in any way that I could. We
found a good Bible Preaching, Bible Teaching Church and I started to
serve my Savior.
I sang my first solo on February 2nd, 1998. In
2002 the Lord took me to Nashville, Tennessee to the recording studio
for my first project. I now have six finished projects. I never thought
singing would be one of the ways that I would be serving the Lord. When
the Lord gave me this ministry, I didn't think I had much to offer at
this stage of my life. But He gives me everything I need to do what He
wants me to do. He has taken me places I never dreamed I would be. It
has been an amazing journey. I don't know why the Lord has given me this
honor, but I will serve Him the best I can for as long as I can.
And he said, "The things which are impossible with man are possible with God." - Luke 18:27
